Key Words for Williamson County Schools (WCS) & Ravenwood High School (RHS)

  • Administrators - Each class is assigned an Administrator/Assistant Principal that stays with them all four years through graduation. This person will be the parents' and students' "go to" person with any issues or concerns.

  • APUSH - AP US History class

  • Carol Birdsong - The WCS Communications Director who contacts families about important district-wide events, i.e., school closings.

  • Certificate of Compulsory School Attendance - A document required by Tennessee Driver Services for a student to obtain a driver's permit. You may get this certificate from the RHS Student Services office.

  • Checkpoints Program - A WCS program required of high school students who wish to park on school grounds. New drivers of any age and their parent/guardian must participate in a one-hour education program before students are able to receive a school parking permit. Programs are offered throughout the year and are only required once. 

  • Class Fees - Non-mandatory fees requested by teachers to be used for classroom supplies and materials.

  • Commons - This is the main atrium in front of the Cafeteria and the hub of the school.

  • Counseling Center - This office handles enrollment, high school planning, class scheduling, and college/career planning. Students are assigned a counselor based on their last name and they have the same counselor for all four years. The phone number is 615-472-4806. The fax number is 615-472-4822.

  • Extracurricular activities - There are MANY ways for students to get involved at RHS. Over 70 clubs and 18 different athletic/sports are available. If you are interested in leadership, government, service, fine arts, band, foreign languages, or sports, there is something for you. There are clubs based on merit and on special interests. For the most current list of club options, go to RHS's website and select Extracurriculars under the Academics & Programs menu.

  • FinalForms - A website/database for parents to upload medical information and records required for their children to play on WCS athletic teams. Coaches use the database to verify athletes' information and communicate with parents about tryouts and other team information.

  • Google Classroom - Student-only access to class resources

  • Hoco or Homecoming - A week in the fall that includes fun school spirit activities including a dance, parade, pep rally, football game and more.

  • inFocus - A weekly e-newsletter from WCS sent to all WCS families who subscribe.

  • Invest In Your Raptor (IIYR) - The RHS PTO's annual fundraising campaign

  • Power News - A weekly e-newsletter from RHS Principal Dr. Vaden sent to all RHS families

  • RACRavenwood Athletic Club is an organization under the RHS PTO umbrella that supports athletic teams at Ravenwood.

  • Raptor Revolution - Freshmen orientation in late July or early August

  • Red Letter Day - Back to school event in early August with separate time slots for each grade level that includes schedule and textbook distribution, locker assignments, information about PTO, TEAMs, clubs, sports, and more.

  • Rivalry t-shirts - T-shirts designed and sold by Student Council to be worn on specified football game days. Usually sold as a pre-order in August as a 4-pack of shirts and each shirt is distributed the week of the game at which it is to be worn.

  • RPAC - Ravenwood Performing Arts Center

  • Skyward - A website and app for parents and students to check grades, attendance, report cards, and more

  • Student Services - This office manages attendance, parking passes, locker information, compulsory attendance for driver's permit, and lost and found. Any time a student leaves or enters the building outside of the start and end times, they must check in with this office with authorization from a parent. The phone number is 615-472-4805.   • Student Store - The Student Store is open at various times during the day for coffee, snacks, and RHS apparel.

  • TEAMs - Together Everyone Achieves More. A group of parent volunteers (organized under the RHS PTO) who support each class for all four years. TEAMs are named based on their graduation year, i.e., TEAM 2027, TEAM 2083.
