Dear Raptor Families,

On behalf of the Ravenwood PTO, welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! It is my pleasure to serve as the RHS PTO President this year, my fourth on the PTO Board and at Ravenwood. My oldest daughter is thrilled to begin her Senior year, my other daughter is nervous and excited to be a Freshman, and my son is an 8th grader at Sunset Middle who is anxious to join his sisters as a Raptor next year.

As we kick off the school year, I encourage all Raptor families to consider how they may contribute to the Ravenwood community. One very easy way is to join the PTO by donating to the Invest In Your Raptor (IIYR) fundraising campaign. IIYR is the RHS PTO's annual check writing campaign and the PTO's primary fundraiser for the school year. All donations to IIYR include PTO membership and there are no additional dues to pay. In addition to financial support, the school and the PTO are always in need of volunteers. Your time is a valuable contribution, whether it is at campus clean-up days, building theatre sets, selling concessions, constructing Homecoming floats, working in the front office, or any of the other opportunities that arise during the year. We are fortunate that Williamson County Schools and Ravenwood High School provide a top-notch education for our children, but our PTO provides a significant lifeline of financial and volunteer assistance thanks to the support of Ravenwood families. No financial or volunteer contribution is too small and all are greatly appreciated.

In addition to supporting the school, the PTO strives to support Ravenwood families by providing timely information and resources. There will be a lot of information coming out soon about Red Letter Day (RHS's "back to school" event), Open House (parents' night), Homecoming, and so much more! To receive communications from the PTO, including grade level specific information from your child’s TEAM, please create or update your account on the PTO’s website (www.rhspto.com) and make sure your child’s grade level and graduation year are correct. If you are on social media, please follow the PTO on Facebook (@pto4rhs), Instagram (@pto4rhs), or Twitter (@pto4rhs). Throughout the year, the PTO will host a variety of gatherings that families are invited to attend including monthly PTO meetings, informal “Coffee with Pam” chats with RHS Principal Dr. Vaden, and relevant orientations and information sessions. Ravenwood is a great community because of an incredibly dedicated and hardworking network of people who represent all facets of the school. Whether this is your family’s first year or final year at RHS, I hope your family is excited to be a part of the Ravenwood community!
